"Escuelita" We provide tutoring, a reading program, gang and substance abuse prevention activities, educational field trips and presentations to elementary school children.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday/ 3pm-5pm
Eligibility Requirements: 1st grade through 5th grade*. Children must be willing to bring homework and participate in our Reading program. Children must also be able to follow our rules and help us to maintain "Escuelita" as a safe place for all our participants. *Kindergardeners are taken on a case by case basis.
Intake Procedure: Intake form must be completed with signatures. If there is space available in the program, participants will be notified of their start date.

Food Pantry Delivery for Homebound seniors
Every third Wednesday of the month, food boxes with extra bread and produce are distributed to home bound seniors in South Tucson by dedicated volunteers. The day before the delivery, volunteers pick up the food boxes from the Food Bank and unload them.
Hours of Operation: Third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month 8am-noon

Senior Meal Program
Twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays, a group of senior citizens, all female, get together to listen to guest speakers, perform crafts, enjoy interesting activities, go an a monthly field trip together and eat a nutritious meal. Volunteers help drive or ride with the driver to pick up the women from their homes. Volunteer groups often come in to lead organized activities, such as greeting card making craft, a tea party or a flower making craft. Volunteers also help take the ladies home.
Hours of Operation: Mondays & Thursdays 9:30am - 1pm
Eligibility Requirements: Seniors must be over 60 years of age.
Intake Procedure: An Intake Registration form is filled out.

Summer Program
We offer a two month summer program for South Tucson youth, aged 6-12 years old. We provide gang and substance abuse prevention activities, educational field trips, arts and crafts, a reading program, movie watching, computer lab time and swimming on Friday.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 1pm-4pm
Eligibility Requirements: Kids entering 1st grade through 6th grade are eligible to enroll in our program.
Intake Procedure: Participants must register with the program.

Faith in Action Volunteer Caregivers of South Tucson
– HNS trained volunteers assist senior citizens in the City of South Tucson with eight basic care giving services such as transportation or friendly visits. Helps seniors remain independent and in their residence for as long as possible.

Youth Programs
After School/Summer Program
– We provide literacy programming, tutoring, gang and substance abuse prevention activities, gardening, educational field trips and presentations to elementary school children.
We offer youth a safe and educational basketball league that increases self-esteem and teamwork.
Baile Folklorico classes are pro-vided for youth to participate in an expression of Mexican culture through dance that addresses self-pride and affiliation with peers.
Alternative Youth Leadership Through Self-Es-Team
-(Double Dutch Jump Rope)- Through learning individual and Double Dutch jump roping skills, youth develop leadership skills, endurance, self-esteem, responsibility, and cardiovascular fitness.
Adult Programs Second Chance Tattoo Removal Program
– This program gives 16-30 year old ex-gang members an opportunity to become self-supporting citizens by removing negative markings. This helps eliminate stereotypes to obtain skilled jobs and promotes a positive self-image. Second Chance collaborates with Job Corps to serve young adults who are participating in a job training program. Participants must fulfill several requirements such as community service, job training, presentations to youth, and necessary life skills classes.
Food Pantry
-Food boxes are available for adults and families in the community who are in need of supplemental food every Wednesday 9-11 am.
